An
important question to have answered before you select a
mover is whether or not they are insured. Many moving
companies today do not operate with the standard liability
insurance required by Texas state law. Obviously accidents
do happen, and because of this it is important that your
mover carries the appropriate insurance for your moving
needs. You can rest assured that Big Brothers Moving Company
has got you covered to Texas State Regulations!
There are three options that we usually recommend to anybody
that we move and they are listed below, make sure that you
make arrangements at least 48 hours in advance if you choose
to use Option 2 below.
Option 1 – This option is
the protection that we provide for you, and is standard for
the moving industry. This coverage protects you up to 0.60
cents per pound per article. Generally this will pay for the
cost of repairing damaged items, but not for the full cost
of replacing them. Obviously there may be items that are not
completely covered using this option. Big Brothers Dallas
Movers does have a very low claim rate but we still
recommend that additional insurance is purchased for items
that cannot be protected with our standard liability
coverage, this coverage would only be necessary to protect
the additional items that would need that extra coverage, or
if possible you could move those items using your own
vehicle. Option 2 describes how you can purchase additional
insurance for those items.
Option 2 - You can use an
independent Insurance Agency to cover your most valued
assets, or you can purchase enough coverage to fully cover
all of your items. If you would like to purchase additional
insurance to include full coverage for all
items, we recommend using
www.movinginsurance.com for additional Cargo Insurance
at 1-888-893-8835. Insurance coverage can be purchase
entirely through there website. Movinginsurance.com is
independent of Big Brothers Movers.
Option 3 - Check with your
current homeowners insurance. They may already provide
coverage for your move. Please check your insurance policy
to see if this coverage is already provided to you, and
avoid purchasing insurance that you don’t need. |
